For Your Consideration
Vote the Bible
By Garry Lovette,

Once again our great nation finds itself in the midst of a heated
Presidential Campaign. And, regretfully, once again we find ourselves in the
middle of some of the most disgusting times that we have ever witnessed.
To clarify our position at Common Ground Christian News, we never have and
never will endorse any presidential candidate. That is not what we are about.
Our goal and purpose is to bring “Unity to the Body of Christ”. It is times
like these that make our called position so very difficult.
I have spoken with numerous people on both ends of the “political spectrum”
and have found one thing to be sure: Most people want things to change.
Change is a very complex word. When some people think about change, it simply
means that they are tired of the way things are and want things to go in a
different direction. As a positive, Christian person, when I think of change,
of course I think about it in a Godly, Judeo-Christian kind of way. In this
election, the change that some want would not be positive, but would be very
detrimental and very destructive to the very foundational principles that
this nation is based upon. As a Christian, it is my moral duty to judge each
candidate as they measure up to the Word of God. Change is not necessarily a
good thing. Change can mean that things can go terribly wrong…making things
much worse than they already are.
The next statement that I will make will shock many. ECONOMICS SHOULD HAVE NO
WEIGHT IN THIS ELECTION. NONE. NADA. As the cover story so states this month,
God is our Source…not the federal government…not the state government.
In this crucial, historic election, it really boils down to two things:
-
The first
question should be, “What are the candidates position on major issues as they
line up with the Bible?”
-
Is the candidate
pro-life or pro-abortion. Is the candidate for same-sex marriage, or is he
for keeping the biblical definition of the family as one man married to one
woman? The second question should be, “Does your candidate have the
experience and qualifications to be the President of the greatest nation in
the world, and Commander in Chief of the greatest army in the world?
If there are any
reservations in your mind about who you intend to vote for, then you must
pray and ask God’s guidance. It’s really quite simple. Vote the Bible. You’ll
never go wrong by doing that.
