What an awesome
time to be alive! We are so blessed and so privileged to live in
this great country and to be a part of what God is doing in our day.
Never before has their been as much expectation as there is today.
What a glorious day!
This time of year,
(which just happens to be my favorite time of year) we see an
enormous amount of harvesting going on. The cotton fields are ripe
and are being picked by the cotton pickers as we speak. The corn has
already been harvested and now the shucks are being gathered for
winter-feed. The harvest is in full swing.
In my spirit I can
hear The Holy Spirit of God saying, “Now is the
time for the great harvest”…now is the time for the greatest
harvest of souls in the history of mankind!” I don’t say that
lightly; but every indication
points to the fact that we are poised for an unprecedented move of
God such as never before.
When one thinks
about great moves of The Spirit of God
or Great Revival, The Welsh Revival comes to mind or the great
awakenings in The Hebrides
Islands or Asuza Street in Los Angeles. Then the Cain Ridge meetings
come to mind and more recently Toronto, Pensacola and Smithton.
I proclaim that
very soon, The Tennessee Valley will be added to that list. What do
I base this on? I base it on several obvious facts.
(1)
God always answers prayer. There has been continuous
intercession going up before the Throne of God for this area for
years, and God must honor that.
(2)
A great influx of people has started into North
Alabama, with many stating that “God told us to move here”.
(3)
There is a tremendous increase in the prophetic that is occurring over this area. Many of the dreams and visions that are
occurring are showing great numbers of people coming to Christ.
(4)
There is a pronounced upturn in the area’s economy. This in
turn has produced a new found optimism in this area that has not
been seen for decades.
(5)
There is a real stirring of the “Spiritual Waters”
in the mainline denominational churches in this area.
Countless people are coming to Christ in the Baptist, Methodist, and Churches of Christ,
with many being filled with the Holy Spirit.
(6)
There have been numerous healings and creative miracles in our area recently. Many have reported
that Cancer, Hepatitis C, and
other diseases have mysteriously disappeared from their bodies. In
the early church, many believed in Jesus and we saved as a result of
witnessing the supernatural. We can expect no different today.
Because we print seven different editions of Common Ground Christian
News, I am privileged to know several wonderful people in full-time
ministry. Without reservation, they all say that God is showing them
the Great Harvest. No matter if I’m in Starkville, Mississippi or
Decatur, Alabama, they are all saying the same thing…that we are on
the verge of the greatest harvest of souls of all time! This, of
course, excites me to no end!
With moral values taking front and center stage in this last
election, one can only surmise that there will now be resurgence
in morality and holiness. History tells us that when this happens, the
nation begins to awaken spiritually.
This great harvest will come with a great price. There must be
brokenness and humility before God. There must be true repentance
from the church if we are to see the full effects of what God intends to do in this area. The church must fall on her face as never before, pleading for the mercy of God and pleading for souls.
Only then will we see this great harvesting of souls.
A recent article that I read stated a real truth for this time. It
stated that the time between sowing and harvesting had speeded up in
this day. How true that statement is! How very little time that we
have to get as many into the Kingdom of God as possible.
We live in a day in that we will get to see and be a part of the
greatest harvest of souls in the history of mankind! Thank God for
his marvelous grace! Thank God for his glorious presence that is now
beginning to permeate our region! We say, “More Lord, More of You!”
I conclude with one of my favorite songs that really sums it all up.
