We
are no doubt living in the most exciting, yet the most disturbing time in our nation’s history. Unless you’ve been in a coma or under
a rock for the last few years, then you know exactly what that
means. Never before have the battle lines been drawn so clearly.
Never before has their been such an outright attack against the
church and the moral foundations that this country was founded upon.
There is only way to know the truth about the candidates in
this election …PRAYER.

This
election promises to be the costliest and the most bitterly contested
ever. In the days leading up to the election on November
2nd, there no doubt will be words spoken with such hate and fervor
against the people of God that even the bravest of hearts might be
alarmed. In the 228 year history of this nation, never has so much
deception been spouted from the mouths of those claiming to bring
better strength and safety to America. Never has the web of
deception been promoted so cunningly as the secular media has done
this time around. ABC, NBC, CBS, CNN, The New York Times, The
Washington Post, and many other secular news organizations have
worked overtime to distort the truth and to make sure that many
people are confused or deceived.
There is only way to know the truth about the candidates in this
election …PRAYER. Never before is it as important as it is right now to know the truth. The Bible says “They’ll believe a lie and be damned”. Many people will go to the polls without giving so much as
a thought as to what the candidate stands for or is against. The
best way to vote is to pray first , then vote for the candidate that
follow the laws of God the closest. It’s really that simple.
I
believe that God will hold us personally responsible if we
vote for any candidate that has intentionally lied, that
openly supports the murder of innocent babies, who openly supports the abomination of
homosexuality, and who openly supports the destruction of God’s
ordained plan for marriage. (Which candidates nationally, statewide or locally best line up God’s word?)
Not
only as a nation do we need to pray, repent and humble ourselves
before our Creator, but we need to become a moral nation once again.
The following is a list of several other things that we need to pray about during this very important season. This list comes to us courtesy of The Presidential Prayer Team.
As Election Day
draws near, pray for every polling place in America to function well
with no computer, mechanical or human errors affecting the results.
Pray that all ballots, whether early, absentee or at the polls, will
be safeguarded giving fair and accurate results. As some states have
now begun early voting, pray for that process to be smooth.
Pray for the members of Congress as they debate the
overhaul of America’s intelligence gathering agencies and the
creation of a National Intelligence Director and a National Counterterrorism
Center. Pray for wisdom from God and for a plan to be worked out in
a timely manner.
Pray for the
President as he continues to fight terrorism. As
terrorists continue
to be captured and brought to justice around the world, pray for the dissolution of every remaining terrorist cell. Pray that the
ideologies and purposes that motivate these groups will vanish, and
that our nation will be protected from any threat against the
security of our citizens, at home or abroad.
Pray for Health and
Human Services Chief Tommy Thompson as he works toward a resolution
to the flu shot crisis. Pray that those who most need the vaccine
will receive it, and that the flu season will be mild this year.
Pray for the
candidates as they continue to travel the nation — for health and
strength, for integrity and truth, and for them to clearly
state their views so the electorate can vote wisely. Pray for the media
and law enforcement personnel who are present at each
campaign
stop—for their protection and safety and soundness in all they do.
Pray for the local
law enforcement agencies in the
Washington, D.C. area. After many months of extra duty due to
heightened security levels, many are at
or near the point of total fatigue. Pray for strength, courage and
for relief to come in a timely manner.
We need only to look at
history to tell us what might
happen if the church becomes complacent
during this time. Israel built
Solomon’s Temple and dedicated it to God. It was a glorious day;
But then Israel became complacent and some 400 years
later, the land was taken by their enemies,
the temple destroyed, and many of them were taken captive
into Babylon.
We as a nation must
come to grips with the fact that many of our leaders in Congress are
evil men and women who are controlled by their own desires for
power, lust and greed. We must realize that a majority of the courts
are controlled by judges who have lost their own moral compass. We
also must come to the realization that if we don’t pray and seek the
face of God during this presidential election, that our nation might
be lost forever, and open to any attack that the enemy can throw at
us. We must remain strong in our resolve to take back what the
enemy
has already stolen.
Will you pray? Will you
fall on your knees for our nation in repentance and humility. Will
you care enough about the nation that your children and
grandchildren will inherit, that you will take the time to intercede on their behalf. Never have your prayers been so important and so
needed.
God is looking for
people who will humble themselves, seek His face, and turn from
their wicked ways. Then they will hear from heaven, and our nation
will once again be “One Nation Under God”.
